Yesterday, we finished packing the van and set-off on a road-trip that will last almost a year. We’ll be travelling all over the U.S. and Canada – visiting family, friends, and a pile of places we’ve always wanted to go.
Although we’ve been on the road for just about 24 hours (currently in Grand Rapids, Michigan), I think it’s just setting in for me now. There were a lot of logistics involved in pulling everything together and I’m ecstatic to be finally on the move.
It seemed like a good idea at the time. We’d been living in Ottawa for several years, were both wrapping up jobs and planning to move back to the Toronto-area. What better time to take a trip? No mortgage, no rent to pay, and no vacation limitations or leave provisions to navigate. Turns out, that made everything more complicated.
